Wolfsberg: Bäckerkapelle

Neben der Markuskirche steht eine gotische Kapelle, die 1497 erstmals erwähnt wird.
Sie ist bis heute im Eigentum der Bäckerzunft. Ausdruck findet das im Reliefstein, der die Gruft verschließt: hier sehen Sie eine Brezel, ein Striezel und ein Kipferl aus Stein. Bemerkenswert ist auch der um 1500 entstandene Flügelaltar.
Zentral ist die Madonna mit Kind aus der Werkstätte des Ulmer Bildhauers Michel Erhard: sicher wurden die Bamberger Verwalter nach einem guten Künstler gefragt! Die gemalten Heiligen auf den feststehenden Flügeln Barbara, Dorothea, Katharina und Margaretha sind hingegen in primitiverer Qualität ausgeführt. Dazu passt ein Bericht, dass im 19. Jahrhundert ein Zunftmeister der Bäcker eigenhändig den Altar restauriert habe.
