The Herz Jesu Chapel is a private chapel belonging to the Caritas House on the Feldberg.
It houses the altarpiece “Our loving lady from the Feldberg”, made by the Freiburg artist Hans Franke (1892-1975). The winter image (closed altarpiece) depicts a nativity scene with the adoration of the magi – the way it could have looked in one of the Feldberg cattle huts. The summer image (open altarpiece) portrays the blessing Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus and a young John the Baptist amidst the Feldberg countryside, surrounded by singing angels with musical instruments.
