Small pilgrimage chapel at Geistkircher Hof
The small chapel at Geistkircher Hof is not only a popular place of worship, it also indicates that a church stood on this site as early as the 13th century, belonging to the village of Fronsbach, which disappeared in the 16th century. The stones from this abandoned place of worship were then used to build the Geistkircher Hof in the 18th century. The current chapel was built at the beginning of the 20th century by Andreas and Anna Wirtz. Since 1949, the small chapel has been owned by the Rohrbach parish of St. Johannes. The centrepiece of the small chapel is the miraculous image of Schönstatt, a copy of the painting "Refuge of Sinners" by the Italian painter Luigi Crosio (1835–1915). The frame of the painting, created by Rohrbach teacher Robert Berrang, who died in 2009, depicts St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the Imperial Cathedral in Speyer and the Rohrbach parish churches of St. John and St. Conrad. The Geistkircher Hof farm with its beautiful farm shop is located in the immediate vicinity.
