Der Niederkrüchtener Friedwald, der im Jahr 2020 eingerichtet wurde, greift den wachsenden Wunsch vieler Menschen auf, ihre letzte Ruhe inmitten der Natur zu finden. Statt klassischer Grabstätten bietet der Friedwald eine würdevolle Bestattungsform unter schützenden Bäumen, eingebettet in die ruhige und tröstliche Atmosphäre des Waldes. Hier verbinden sich Abschied, Erinnerung und Natur auf besondere Weise.
Die Grabstätten sind einzelnen Bäumen oder Baumgruppen zugeordnet, die als natürliche Erinnerungsorte dienen. Moose, Farne und der Wechsel der Jahreszeiten prägen das Bild und machen jeden Besuch zu einem stillen Naturerlebnis. Auf Grabsteine oder aufwendige Bepflanzungen wird bewusst verzichtet – der Wald bleibt in seiner Ursprünglichkeit erhalten. Dezente Namensschilder am Baum erinnern an die Verstorbenen.
