Today, Schloss Porcia houses both the “Museum for Folk Culture” and the “Gallery in Schloss Porcia”, a stage for theatrical performances and concerts, a library, as well as a coffee house. Every Thursday there is a farmers’ market in the castle courtyard.
In addition, the palace is used for events such as the annual “International Choir Competition”. The inner courtyard also turns into a stage for the “Porcia Comedy Plays” for 2 months in the summer, and every 2 years the “Salamanca Festival” takes place in Spittal in honor of the builder and first lord of the palace.
