Seit karolingischer Zeit steht in Tüschenbroich eine Burg. Zunächst gab es die Motte (Erhügelburg, die mit Palisaden befestigt war) inmitten des Sees, die 1172 urkundlich erstmal belegt ist. Diese Gebäude sind im Dreißigjährigen Krieg abgebrannt.
1624 kaufte Franz von Spiering das kriegszerstörte Tüschenbroich für 24.200 Reichstaler. Er ließ die heutige Anlage als Wasserschloss auf dem „Festland“ neu erbauen, wobei das Hauptgebäude, ein 35 Meter langer Backsteinbau mit Turm, entstand. Die Arbeiten am Schloss zogen sich bis in das 18. Jahrhundert hin.
Es befindet sich in Privatbesitz und ist nur von außen zu besichtigen.
