Next to the campsite in Halbmeil, a leisure centre of impressive dimensions was built on the site of a former day labourer's farm.
With the support of clubs and volunteers, the town of Wolfach has built a large barbecue area with a fire pit, a building with sanitary facilities and recreation rooms, a youth campsite and a football pitch.
There is a charge for using the barbecue area. Reservations can be made via the Wolfach town council, Mr Christoph Heizmann, Tel. 07834 8353-44.
In the lower area there is a small pond with a raft floating in it, which has quickly become a favourite water playground on warm days. The shallow depth of the water means that even smaller children can play there without any problems. Nevertheless, you should never let your offspring in and around the water without supervision.
A large slide and open spaces complete the offer for big and small rascals who can really let off steam here.
Above the barbecue area, the Wolfach small animal breeders have set up a facility with several animal enclosures that can be visited. And if you would like to know where the expression "busy as a bee" comes from, you can observe the hustle and bustle of the little honey collectors at the apiary of the Kinzigtal Beekeepers' Association.
