Für den Velofahrer auf seinem „Unternehmen Biber und Lachs ohne Grenzen“ lohnt sich ein Halt auf Höhe der Dreirosenbrücke.

Werfen wir unseren Blick in Stromrichtung an das linke Rheinufer (linksrheinisch), fallen uns die Uferausbuchtungen an der Böschungsmauer auf. Tatsächlich wurde hier beim Bau des Elsässerrheinwegs zwischen Dreirosenbrücke und Hüningen an den Biber gedacht. Es sind zwei Unterstände in die Böschungsmauer eingebaut und mehrere schützende Uferausbuchtungen angelegt worden.
Stellen wir uns einen Biber vor, der zwischen seinen Lebensräumen im Elsass, am Hochrhein oder an der Ergolz durch Basel wandert. Sicherlich kann er einen geschützten Rastplatz für eine Pause inmitten der flachen und steilen Uferbebauung der Großstadt gut gebrauchen.
