Pilgrim walks in Thierstein

The section Aesch - Beinwil Monastery is part of the Basler Route, which will take us from Basel to Burgdorf / Bern. We are on the Swiss pilgrimage routes.

The Three-Lakes Route connects the "Regio Basiliensis" with the Romandy, where it merges at Payerne into the "Romandy Route", which continues via Geneva to France.

Over waterlogged hills to the capital of the Jura. 11th July 2021

Jakobsweg from Beinwil to Welschenrohr:We took the train and bus back to Beinwil, and then followed the suggested path, winding upwards through forests and finally meadows to Hohe Winde, at 1204m the highest hill around with 360 degree views. It did, however, live up to its name of Highly Windy! The over the other side, where we had a warm soup in the Ski Hut there, and downwards through muddy cattle meadows. The final route was closed, and so we trudged down roads, through a gorge, down to Welschenrohr where we got the bus and trains back.
