Long-distance hikes in Pullenreuth

Over almost 500 km, we hike on the Franconian Mountain Route through the Franconian Forest Nature Park, the Fichtel Mountains, Franconian Switzerland, and the Franconian Jura.

The South Route (78 km) connects the Fichtelgebirge and Steinwald. It starts in Neuenmarkt and crosses the southwestern edge of the Fichtelgebirge via Bad Berneck and Warmensteinach to Immenreuth. Then it leads eastward over the Armesberg and the Steinwald to Wiesau.

On the ridge path we climb the highest mountain peaks of the Fichtelgebirge and see impressive rock towers. Afterwards, we hike on the Steinwaldweg through the forest of the same name in the southern Fichtelgebirge.

The Steinwaldweg (46 km) connects the Fichtelgebirge and Steinwald: It starts at the Kösseine, goes to the Steinwald plateau and via the Weißenstein ruin, the Marktredwitzer Haus, and Fuchsmühl to Waldsassen.

Fränkischer Gebirgsweg Tag 2   Fuchsmühl bis Neusorg Es ging gleich in den Wald bis zum Hackstein 723 m – dann weiter bis zur Burgruine Weissenstein  864 m – nächstes Ziel war der Oberpfalzturm auf der Platte 946 m mit 150 Stufen zur tollen Rundumsicht – dann bergab bis Pullenreuth – über einen Radweg bis nach Neusorg bis zum  Hotel Sonnental  Kösseinestraße 8, 95700 Neusorg    09234204  sehr schöne Zimmer mit intaktem FS Essen und Frühstück waren sehr gut
