Welcome to Schalottenhof!
Schalottenhof is a former country inn located in a quiet, rural village setting that has been extensively renovated and expanded with much imagination and attention to detail.
The Idea
Time at Schalottenhof means: recharging with all senses – expressing one's own creativity – joy in shared experiences – relaxing or playing in the garden – crafting, painting or dressing up in the studio – exercising in the movement room – baking in the old bread oven – singing and grilling around the campfire and so much more…
The Farm
The hosts provide vacations like in the past when children were still allowed to be children, running barefoot through the meadow and playing hide and seek under the fruit trees.
The farm consists of a main house with cozy rooms as well as a common room and a dining hall. A large garden area with old fruit trees is located right outside the front door.
The outbuildings offer – thanks to the elaborate redesign – variety in the daily routine, whether in the painting studio, in the gymnasium, or in the old smoking chamber during bread baking.
Schalottenhof is not just a holiday home; it is, more importantly, a place where children and adults can feel and experience.

NATURE EXPERIENCES
The children experience processes through their own observations and activities – such as planting and harvesting – on site. The seasonal changes in nature will be palpable for the children – growth and flourishing in spring, colorful leaves in autumn, and snow and ice in winter.
MOVEMENT EXPERIENCES
On the grounds of the Schalottenhof, the children have the opportunity to experience numerous movement stimuli in nature. They are allowed to try out and experiment without having to orient themselves to predetermined offerings. The children can test their own boundaries and abilities. Climbing, running, jumping, building – within a protected framework.
OLD CRAFT TRADES
The old outbuildings have largely been restored to their original condition to fulfill former functions again. Here, under expert guidance, children have the opportunity to bake bread, weave baskets, do pottery, or craft. In addition to these practical activities, they will also learn about the working life in earlier times (e.g., in the workshop “The Little Bit of Household”).
