Žiarska chata – 1.325 m n. m. je jedinou vysokohorskou chatou v Západných Tatrách – v strednej časti Žiarskej doliny vzdialená asi 5,5 km od jej ústia. Je veľmi často navštevovaná turistami, nakoľko je vynikajúcim východiskom na rôzne túry do oblasti Baníkova a Baranca.
Žiarska chata – 1.325 m n. m. je jedinou vysokohorskou chatou v Západných Tatrách – v strednej časti Žiarskej doliny vzdialená asi 5,5 km od jej ústia. Je veľmi často navštevovaná turistami, nakoľko je vynikajúcim východiskom na rôzne túry do oblasti Baníkova a Baranca.
Žiarska dolina je jednou z najznámejších a najnavštevovanejších dolín nielen v rámci Západných Tatier, ale aj v rámci celých Tatier ako celku, a to nielen z dôvodu geologickej stavby, rastlinstva či živočíšstva, ale hlavne pre jej výhodnú polohu, dobrú prístupnosť, pre množstvo kilometrov značkovaných chodníkov, ktoré vedú hlavne po okolitých hrebeňoch, pre nádherné a neopakovateľné výhľady z nadmorskej výšky cez 2000 metrov.
Okolo chaty prechádza modrá turistická značka vedúca od ústia Žiarskej doliny, cez Smutné sedlo na Ťatliakovu chatu a zelená turistická značka vedúca z Otrhancov, Hrubého vrchu a Jamníckej doliny na Baníkov a do Roháčskej doliny. Od chaty sa dá ísť ďalej do Smutného sedla (1,50 hodiny), Žiarskeho sedla (1,45 hodiny) na Baranec (3,30 hodiny), Plačlivé (2,20 hodiny), Ostrý Roháč (3,25 hodiny), Baníkov (2,45 hodiny) a Volovec (4,20 hodiny).
Na chate sa nachádza aj nabíjacia stanica na e-bike.

Parkovanie je možné priamo v Ústí Žiarskej doliny na platenom parkovisku. Pre ubytovaných hostí je povolený aj prístup vlastným motorovým vozidlom až ku chate, kde môžu odstaviť vozidlo na parkovisku.
