Welcome to the Tannheimer Hütte! Small, cozy, and family-friendly: The hut, which reopened in the summer of 2024 as a replacement for the old Tannheimer Hütte, is a wonderful destination for families and the ideal base for hikers and climbers. Nestled in the heart of the Tannheim Mountains at an elevation of 1,760 m, the sun terrace offers a stunning panoramic view featuring the “100-Peak View.” Right behind the hut, the impressive rock faces of Roter Flüh, Gimpel, and Köllenspitze rise up.

Note on bed bug prevention:

The Tannheimer Hütte is bed bug-free, and we want to keep it that way! Where many people sleep, uninvited guests sometimes appear. They are not harmful to your health, nor do they have anything to do with the cleanliness of the hut. Bed bugs are usually carried in backpacks or on clothing. Since bed bugs are a nuisance, we ask all guests to follow these preventive hygiene guidelines:

  • Do not place your backpack on the mattresses or empty its contents
  • Keep personal items and textiles in contact with the mattresses to a minimum
  • Keep backpacks closed and stored as far away from your sleeping area as possible, and hang them up if possible
  • Hang clothing on hooks
  • Store worn clothing in plastic bags sealed as tightly as possible

Please make sure you do not bring bed bugs from another lodging to our facility. We therefore recommend that you wash your hiking sleeping bag regularly to prevent unintentional transmission.
