Die Rossalm ist die höchstgelegene Alm im Naturschutzgebiet Geigelstein und eine der höchsten Almen in ganz Deutschland. Die Besonderheit der Rossalm sind die großflächig vorhandenen Kieselkalke, die tiefgründig verwitterte, entkalkte Böden bilden. Auf diesem sauren Untergrung gedeiht eine speziell angepasste Flora, die in dieser Ausdehnung in den Kalkalpen eine Seltenheit ist, zum Beispiel der Punktierte Enzian.
Ausgangspunkt/Gehzeit:
- Von Hainbach (655 Hm) über die Dalsenalm (1 Stunde), dann über den Weitlahnerkopf zur Rossalm mindestens zweieinhalb Stunden.
- Von Schleching oder Ettenhausen über Haidholzen-Alm zur Rossalm zweieinhalb bis drei Stunden.
