Das Riemannhaus liegt auf 2.177m im Steinernen Meer in den Berchtesgadener Alpen. Die Schutzhütte thront in spektakulärer Lage in der Ramseider Scharte zwischen Sommerstein und Breithorn.
Aufgrund seiner zentralen Lage ist es der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen durchs Steinerne Meer. Über den Talort Maria Alm ist die Hütte in ca. 3 Stunden erreichbar.
Seit 1902 gehört die Hütte der DAV Sektion Ingolstadt, welche die Hütte im Laufe der Jahrzehnte auf bis zu 120 Schlafplätze erweiterte.
Im Spätsommer 2023 startete die letzte Umbauphase und der ursprüngliche Hüttenteil wurde abgerissen und ein Ersatzbau errichtet. Im Sommer 2024 wurde der Neubau, welcher unter anderem die neue Küche, eine neue Gaststube und Mitarbeiterzimmer umfasst, fertiggestellt.
Die restlichen Arbeiten wurden im Frühjahr 2025 noch fertiggestellt, sodass das Haus jetzt in neuem Glanz erstrahlt.
