The Kohlbachtal Nature Friends House is located in the middle of the Palatinate Forest, in a side valley of the Elmstein Valley, 297 metres above sea level.

The house is an ideal hiking base. Thanks to its central location, all the sights in the Palatinate can be reached effortlessly. Worthwhile excursions in the immediate vicinity are the wine metropolis of Neustadt, the German Wine Route, Hambach Castle, Trifels near Annweiler, Dahner Felsenland and Speyer with its imperial cathedral.

With its overnight accommodation, the ideal hiking base in the heart of the Pfälzerwald Nature Park. The house is managed and offers a small menu with Palatinate specialities. You can cook for yourself in the self-catering kitchen. A barbecue hut is available for a small fee. There is a children's playground at the house.

The Kohlbachtal Nature Friends House is surrounded by extensive forests, peaceful valleys and well-signposted hiking trails in the Palatinate Forest. The natural surroundings are ideal for walks, hikes and discovery tours. Nearby is the idyllically situated Helmbachweiher pond, which is a popular destination for those seeking relaxation, especially on warm days. Cyclists and nature lovers will also find plenty to enjoy here. The varied landscape makes the Kohlbach Valley an ideal place for a relaxing break in nature.
