Die Selbstversorgerhütte ist auch idealer Stützpunkt für Ausflüge zur Grasslhöhle und dem Katerloch, zwei imposanten Schauhöhlen in den Sattelbergen zwischen der Weiz- und Raabklamm.

- Vom Parkplatz Eibisberg 20 Minuten
- Von St. Kathrein/Offenegg 1 ¼ Stunde
- Von Brandlucke 1 ¼ Stunde
- Von Granitzer 2 Stunden
- Von Schmied in der Weiz 2 Stunden
- Über Eibisberg, Gschaid auf den Patschagipfel, zurück über Vogelhütte, St. Kathrein zur Bendler; 5 Std,
- Über Eibisberg zum Hohen Zetz, zurück über die Forststraße zum Eibisberg; 3 Std.
- Über St. Kathrein zur Brandlucke, zurück über Schönes Kreuz zur Bendler; 4 Std.
