The Langtalereck Hut (Karlsruher Hut) is located at an elevation of 2,480 m. It was built in 1929–30 and expanded in 1986. It is an ideal destination for day trips from Obergurgl and a perfect base for family mountain hikes. From the hut, visitors can enjoy mountain hikes, high-altitude hikes, and ski tours. Those who choose the hut as their hiking destination will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Langschaft, shaped and sculpted by glaciers, and can experience the Gurgler Glacier.
The hut is located within the coverage area of a cell phone network, but you may need to move a short distance away from the hut to get a signal. Upon request, backpacks and equipment can be transported to the hut. Showers and hot water are available in the hut’s washrooms.
The hut is generally open from mid- to late February through the end of April and from mid- to late June through mid- to late September. Opening hours and access may depend on weather and avalanche conditions, as well as other disruptions
.
The hut is connected to the Alpine Clubs’ online booking system. Through this system, you can see when and how many beds are available and book them right away: Go to online booking
