Eine einfache, ehrenamtlich von Mitgliedern der Alpinen Gesellschaft Kienthaler, am Wochenenden und Feiertagen (von Ostern bis Allerheiligen) bewirtschaftete Schutzhütte ohne Nächtigungsmöglichkeit.
Lage
Südwestlicher Schneeberg, malerisch gelegen am Fuß des Turmsteins (1.416 m), auf dessen Gipfel ein Klettersteig (B) führt.
Ausstattung
Aufgrund des Quellschutzgebietes der Gemeinde Wien ist das Nächtigen in der Hütte leider nicht gestattet.
Verpflegung
Die eigene Jause darf und soll mitgenommen werden. Die Schutzhütte bietet nur eine leckere Suppe, Schnitten, Schokolade, Schiwasser, Tee, Soda, Wein und Schnaps.
Zustieg vom Parkplatz Weichtalhaus
- über den Ferdinand-Mayer-Weg in ca. 2,5 Stunden oder
- durch die Weichtalklamm (Klettersteig A/B) in 2,5 Stunden
Zustieg vom Parkplatz Losenheim
- über Lahning und Fadenweg in 2,5 Stunden oder
- über nördl. und südl. Grafensteig in 7-8 Stunden
Zustieg von Puchberg
Mit der Zahnradbahn bis zum Hotel Hochschneeberg und weiter zur Fischerhütte und/oder Gipfel und danach Abstieg zur Kienthaler-Hütte in 2 Stunden (ohne Bahn).
