A mountain hut operated by the Austrian Alpine Club
The Austriahütte (1,638 m), built in 1880 and thus the oldest existing mountain hut in the Dachstein region in Styria, is located in the alpine pasture area above Ramsau. The hut is easily accessible, and the surrounding area is a paradise where children can play freely and explore nature without a care in the world. The extensive network of hiking trails, the proximity to the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car, rewarding climbing routes and via ferrata trails in the immediate vicinity, cozy rooms for overnight stays, regional delicacies, and the Dachstein Museum located right in the hut make this location particularly appealing.
