Guttenberg House
A mountain hut operated by the Austrian Alpine Club
[Bn]
Built in 1914, we celebrated the Guttenberghaus’s 100th anniversary in 2014, and we are particularly pleased that everything in and around the hut still retains its “rustic” character and has been preserved in its original state.
It has been modernized time and again, with many improvements made to simplify and enhance the experience, yet the style of a mountaineering—or mountain refuge—has always been preserved. The satisfaction of our young guests is also evident in the children’s mountain camp organized by the Haus im Ennstal section, which has been taking place for over 40 years—an event that serves as an important showcase for us and will hopefully continue to bring many more happy years at the Guttenberghaus!
The “Mit Kindern auf Hütten” (With Children at Mountain Huts) certification awarded to us by the Alpine Club also shows that families with children are in good hands here. We recommend the hut for children aged 6 or 7 and older, so that they aren’t overwhelmed right away. Our location serves as the starting point for many different hiking options ranging from moderate to difficult—yet always “high-alpine”!
More detailed information about the amenities at our Alpine Club hut and the various hiking options can be found on this page.
We would be delighted to welcome you soon at the Guttenberghaus in Ramsau am Dachstein!
Further information about the Dachstein Hut Circuit can be found at www.alpenvereinaktiv.com and www.alpenverein-austria.at.
Our hut is part of the “Mit Kindern auf Hütten” (With Children at Mountain Huts) campaign, an initiative by the Alpine Clubs in Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol promoting family-friendly mountain huts. Suitable for children ages 7–8 and up.
