Von der Postauto-Haltestelle Tiefenbach ist die Hütte in 1.5 Stunden bequem erreichbar. Sie wird deshalb oft als Familienausflug von Tagesausflüglern besucht.
Beide Hüttenwarte sind telantierte Köche. Die gute Küche und die hausgemachten Spezialitäten (z.B.: Kuchen und selbst gebackenes Brot) sind weit herum bekannt. Eine traumhafte Rundsicht und der Blick auf den Galnestock machen die Hütte zu einem Ausflugserlebnis.
Die Hütte bietet Platz für 80 Personen. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Veranstaltungen:
- Dienstagsjass
- Freitagsschmaus
