Hiking in Wikon

From Zofingen's local mountain, this hike leads over the "Hohwacht" observation tower to the historic Bottenstein ruins and finally to Wikon Castle: an enjoyable journey through space and time.

3rd stage on the trail of Brother Klaus von Flüe from Liestal, where he gave up his pilgrimage, to Ranft, where he later lived as a hermit. Aarburg, along the Tych and the Wigger to Zofingen, then along the slope to Wikon and Reiden and from there again along the Wigger to Nebikon. 20 km, 140 m ascent, 50 m descent (22 effective kilometers), 7 km asphalt

Switzerland's most beautiful fairground The Heiternplatz above Zofingen was established in 1745 and was originally used for military purposes. Today it is above all a popular excursion destination and venue for festivals and celebrations of all kinds. The "Heitere" attracts the most visitors every year on the second weekend in August, when the famous open-air music festival takes place there. Around 35,000 music-loving visitors flock to the Heiternplatz to be swept away by well-known national and international bands. Incidentally, from up here you also have a wonderful view of the historic old town of Zofingen, which we cross twice on our circular walk.

Hike from Zofingen to Sursee. Mostly through open forests. This is the first stage of our long-distance hike from Zofingen to Scuol.

Ruhige Wege führen durch typisch mittelländische Gegenden. Der Höhepunkt ist der Santeberg mit der Chätzigerhöchi, von wo aus sich die Ebene des Wauwilermooses und das ganze nördliche Vorland der Stadt Luzern überblicken lässt. Etappenziel ist Sursee am Sempachersee.
