A beautiful valley hike, for example, takes you into the Silbertal. The path is also easily accessible with a pram. There are many other easy hikes and walks around Schruns, many of which are barrier-free.
Thanks to the cableways, you can reach the Silbertal without difficulty.
Thanks to the cable cars, easy hikes can also be made on the mountain. The Hochjochbahn 1 and 2 cable cars take you comfortably up to 1800 metres above sea level. Several hikes start here. With a pushchair, it is best to take the gravel path back to the middle station. Alternatively, there is also a hiking trail with the same destination. Somewhat more challenging, the route takes you along paths, and you can also reach the Seebliga lake.

The 2520 metre high Hochjoch is the local mountain of Schruns and can be experienced in many ways. Even in summer, thanks to the cable cars, many metres of altitude can be saved here and hikes can begin with a dreamlike panorama. With the Hochjoch 1 and 2 cable cars, you can gondola directly from the centre of Schruns up to the Kapell mountain station. There are many different hikes to choose from here.
A nice destination is the Sennigrat. Either on foot or further up with the Sennigrat cable car, you reach an altitude of 2280 metres and can decide: Either you follow the paths that take you back down into the valley. Or you stay at altitude and follow the hiking trails around Hochjoch. For the first option, the descent into the Silbertal valley, past the Wormser and Grasjoch huts, is a good choice. For the second option, we recommend the challenging ascent to the Zamangspitze and then either back to the Sennigratbahn or further down into the valley to Sankt Gallenkirchen.
Difficult hikes and mountain tours around Schruns-Tschagguns
Steep slopes, long days on the mountain and a pinch of adventure – Schruns is the perfect base and the Montafon is a huge playground for all those who like it challenging. If you are fit enough, we recommend the long hike from the Untere Gaflunaalpe through the Silbertal to the Hochjoch. Here you can experience the Verwall from its most beautiful side.
Also in the neighbouring municipality of Tschagguns, mountain fans will find great and sometimes quite challenging tours. The local mountain of Tschagguns, the Tschaggunser Mittagsspitze, is one such destination and also offers numerous variants to extend the tour. Attention: Short via ferrata before the summit!
A steep hike leads from Bartholomäberg to the Davennaspitze. To reach the summit at 1874 m, you need to be fit and sure-footed, but you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view and rarely is the summit busier. The descent is followed by a stop at the Alpengasthof Rellseck.

Also for multi-day hikes there is hardly a better starting point than Schruns. A real highlight is the two-day Montafoner Verwallrunde, which leads through Vorarlberg's largest European nature reserve.
In Schruns you can also join the Montafoner Hüttenrunde. This demanding undertaking over 13 stages reveals the most beautiful places in the Montafon mountain groups of Verwall, Silvretta and Rätikon. You can start as planned in Silbertal or after a climb to the Hochjoch at the Wormser Hütte.
