At the Feet of NëmerçkaThis short and beautiful hike leads us to the Sopotit Waterfall, which cascades down in tiers within a narrow rocky corset. The view over the Vjosa Valley is also worthwhile, as is the experience at the feet of Maja e Dritës: Before the mighty rock walls of the Nëmerçka massif, a person feels like a dwarf.

The Silence of the ForestThis short circular tour allows us to immerse ourselves in the largest national park in Albania, founded in 1996 and expanded in 2008 to 34,000 hectares. It is mainly the trees, some over 100 years old, that create the charm of this hike, including maples, beeches, and oaks, as well as the eponymous firs (bredh) and Macedonian pines. The latter are remnants of ancient Mediterranean forests. The view of the Dhëmbel-Nëmerçka mountain range is another highlight.

Over the Dhëmbel Pass from seclusion into the cityWe ascend along a canyon into a high valley inhabited by shepherds and further to the pass between Dhëmbel and Nëmerçka, which together form a mountain range. The breathtaking panorama compensates for the 600 meters of altitude gained: The view extends from the Vikos-Aoos National Park in Greece on the right over the Vjosa Valley with the town of Përmet lying below us and the Bredhi i Hotovës National Park opposite, to the Tomorr on the left. The descent offers more beautiful viewpoints and the opportunity to visit the church of Leusë and – almost at the destination – the Kongresi i Përmetit.

The hike is great. Although not well marked, you will be able to find the way by following the path. The waterfall is quit nice, you cannot swim but you can freshen up. The view on the mountains behind the waterfall and into the valley is great. The mountains are beautifully green. There was some rubbish on the way.
