Hiking route along the sixth stage of the "Traversata carnica - Via della Pace", from the Marinelli refuge to the Malga Promosio hut through the pass of M. Croce Carnico

Hike around 2000m elevation above the Panoramica delle Vette road, developing by riding the upper ridges of M. Pezzacul and Crostis, with a stop at Lake Tarondon. 

Hike on the trails of our soldiers and the Carnic porters along Pal Piccolo, one of the most contested summits of the Carnic front during the First World War. 

A very scenic and historically interesting circular hike. The madness of World War I strongly contrasts with the picturesque mountain landscape of the Carnic ridge.

Along the Karnischer Höhenweg with Italian influence

The Cellon offers a great view of the Carnic Alps and the surrounding valleys. 

ATTENTION: on this route there is a ROAD BLOCK on the ITALIAN SIDE (No. 401)!! Due to a rockfall, the path to the open-air museum Kleiner Pal on the Italian side (401) is closed. Access routes are via the MG-Nose (434) or towards Freikofelsattel (436) continuing on 401. The path from Plöckenhaus via Hausalm (435) must first be repaired by the Austrian Alpine Club and is currently not recommended (435). ************************************************************************************************************************* There are several options for this hike: 1. from Plöckenhaus to the gallery and left to the MG-Nose or from Plöcken Pass to the MG-Nose 2. steeply upwards from the MG-Nose to the open-air museum 3. MG-Nose - circular route (open-air museum (for information about the open-air museum, see the book "The Open-Air Museum Plöckenpass", available in bookstores and at the Plöckenmuseum in the Kötschach-Mauthen town hall). 4. Extensive circular tour - this is described below. The First World War in the Carnic Alps. In no section of this mountain range along the current border between Italy and Austria is contemporary history as present as in the area around Passo di Monte Croce/Plöckenpass (1357 m). The open-air museum of mountain warfare vividly conveys the situation of the two warring parties Italy and Austria-Hungary on a very confined space on the extensive ridge of Kleiner Pal at nearly 2000 meters altitude, with reconstructed trenches, bunkers, tunnel systems, and other frontline installations everywhere you look. The soldiers really stood face to face at the front lines between rugged rock formations, just within hand grenade throwing distance.

Hiking route along the seventh stage of the "Traversata carnica - Via della Pace," from malga Promosio to Fabiani refuge

Challenging route to the summit of Monte Coglians, the highest in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The ascent does not require special equipment and is not too exposed, but it does require experience in alpine environments and the willingness to overcome tiring scree fields.
