Some recommended starting points for your hikes could be Baad or Hirschegg, for example. For the adventurous, there are also more challenging routes to discover, such as the Heilbronner Weg or the Kanzelwand-Klettersteig. However, these require experience in alpine terrain and good physical fitness. The 15 km long hike around the Widderstein, which starts in Baad, is also very demanding on fitness. From the Auenhütte in Hirschegg it takes about two hours to get to the hut. On the way to the hut you pass the Herzsee. This idyllic mountain lake lies at an altitude of 1,300 metres and offers a wonderful place for a break. Another highlight is the tour to the Mindelheimer Hütte, an alpine refuge at 2,058 metres above sea level.
