Die Sonnenterrasse der Berggaststätte bietet bei geeignetem Wetter einen herrlichen Ausblick auf die umliegende Bergwelt der Ammergauer Alpen, Estergebirge und Wetterstein mit Zugspitze.
Der bequemste Zugang ist natürlich mit der Laber-Bergbahn. Zu Fuß kann das Die Laberei von Oberammergau (2:15 Std) oder Ettal (2:00 Std) aus erreicht werden.
