Departure from the Viote parking lot, with an initial climb towards Cornetto del Bondone / Monte Cornetto. From here the route continues along a long and scenic ridge, passing through Campo Fiorito, La Becca, Carbonil, Rocchetta, Palon, Cima Alta and the Bassa / Madonnina area. After this ridge section, the final ascent to the cross of Monte Stivo is tackled, the main point of the tour. From there begins the final descent to Santa Barbara di Ronzo-Chienis, up to the Bar Mountain K2 parking lot.

From Passo S. Barbara m. 1175 to the plateau of S. Antonio m. 1220, take trail 608 bis which coincides with a mule track that ascends in switchbacks. From here the panorama opens up considerably, continue along a long diagonal until reaching a wide basin with Malga Stivo m. 1748. From here the final "stretch" up a steep ridge with an easy zig zag path leads to Rifugio Stivo, then in 5 minutes to the summit with panoramic observation point and large iron cross. The view is endless at 360 degrees on clear days. Descent is a loop along the steep grassy ridges, then reconnecting with the outbound mule track.
