From Drena, continue by car on the provincial road for about 2 km and, once you reach the locality Luch, turn right onto the road that climbs to Malga Campo.
After leaving the car in the parking lot and passing a barrier, walk to the right on a forest road that, staying between the two barns, climbs up to the trailhead of path 623.
In about 45 minutes you reach Cima Bassa (Madonnina) and continue to the right on path 617, up to the base of the ridge leading to the summit.
At the fork, our route continues to the right on the easy path 617 (alternatively: path 617B, steeper and exposed, which goes directly to the summit).
After about 30/40 minutes, at the next signpost, turn right towards the refuge.
Once arrived and refreshed, a short detour to the summit with the cross (reachable in 5 minutes) is recommended to admire the 360° panorama over the surrounding valleys and Lake Garda.
Author’s recommendation
Before every hike, it is recommended to check the route and carefully verify the weather conditions.
It is also advised to choose the right clothing and appropriate equipment, as well as to apply sunscreen and an insect repellent, the latter both on exposed skin and on clothes.

Equipment
Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face any unforeseen events such as a sudden thunderstorm or a drop in energy.
Don't forget your water bottle (at least 1 liter of water), a windproof jacket, a thermal shirt, a cap, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
Wear footwear suitable for the route and the season. The trail surface may be uneven or rough, and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep trail, if wet, can become dangerous without proper footwear.
