MONTE STIVO FROM PASSO S.BARBARA

From Passo S. Barbara m. 1175 to the plateau of S. Antonio m. 1220, take trail 608 bis which coincides with a mule track that ascends in switchbacks.

From here the panorama opens up considerably, continue along a long diagonal until reaching a wide basin with Malga Stivo m. 1748. From here the final "stretch" up a steep ridge with an easy zig zag path leads to Rifugio Stivo, then in 5 minutes to the summit with panoramic observation point and large iron cross. The view is endless at 360 degrees on clear days. Descent is a loop along the steep grassy ridges, then reconnecting with the outbound mule track.
