Der Gipfel ist durch seine emporstehende und herausragende Lage bereits vom Ortsinneren von Oybin gut zu sehen. Diese lohnenswerte Felswand bietet viel Sonne, gute Aussicht und ein breites Spektrum an Routen. Von einfach bis anspruchsvoll reihen sich hier Herausforderungen für Anfänger, Kinder und Experten an einander. Mit bis zu 45 Meter Seillänge handelt es sich auch um einen höheren Felsen, im Verhältnis zu anderen Felsen im Gebirge. Durch seine vielen positiven Eigenschaften ist er ein beliebtes und frequentiertes Ausflugs-Ziel für Kletterer. Der Felsen befindet sich jedoch leicht abseits der Felsengasse und wird dadurch von Wanderern nicht oft besucht. Das Gipfelbuch befindet sich am Südgipfel. Es gibt zwei Abseilösen mit einer Höhe von 20 m. Es wird nach Nord-Ost abgeseilt.

Approach

Die Wanderung (1,35 km) beginnt am Kelchstein-Parkplatz. Von dort nach O Korseltweg folgen. Nach 900 m an Gabelung (Wiesenweg/Korseltweg) Weg hangaufwärts und nach 100 m erneut an Gabelung Weg hangaufwärts (sehr verwurzelt) zu Felsen. Die Felswand befindet sich zwischen Felsengasse und Scharfenstein. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2886439631
Alternativ: Vom Parkplatz Lückendorf nach Nord in den Wald den Eschenweg in Richtung Scharfenstein nehmen oder den Körtingweg folgen mit kleinem Umweg über Scharfenstein. Letzterer ist Aufgrund der wunderbaren Aussicht sehr empfehlenswert. Der Umweg lohnt sich!
