"Pilastro Francese" – a resonant name for alpinists! Many of them, including very well-known ones, reportedly struggled with blunders as the route is not easy to find. The existing verbal descriptions in various guide publications are open to interpretation. A good topo did not exist until a few years ago. Only with the publication of an Italian internet topo did the frequency of ascents suddenly increase. With us, two other rope teams were still climbing. As many as normally in the whole summer!
