Alpine climbing routes in Molveno

"Pilastro Francese" – a resonant name for alpinists! Many of them, including very well-known ones, reportedly struggled with blunders as the route is not easy to find. The existing verbal descriptions in various guide publications are open to interpretation. A good topo did not exist until a few years ago. Only with the publication of an Italian internet topo did the frequency of ascents suddenly increase. With us, two other rope teams were still climbing. As many as normally in the whole summer!

Fascinating highlight Not only regarding the summit height, Cima Brenta (3151 m) is a highlight of the Via delle Normali. As the highest peak of the Brenta group, Cima Brenta lies in the middle of a fairy-tale sea of towers and rock walls.

Exposed lookout tower The mighty rock tower Campanile Alto stands alone in the middle of the Brenta group. It is an uplifting feeling to climb the summit and enjoy the wild panorama.

The »Camelot« was abandoned during the first ascent after the sixth pitch because unfortunately the upper part of the wall is crumbly.

The »Sendero Luminoso« is a thoroughly successful route among the otherwise somewhat neglected classics at Castel Alto dei Massodi.

The "Flying Circus" is certainly one of the most spectacular routes in the Dolomites!
