Handbike tour with light electric assistance along the Danube Cycle Path from Passau to Vienna in 5 stages. The tour is generally easy to ride, on paved paths. In Engelhartszell, it’s better to take the left bank of the Danube; the right bank is hilly. There are some challenges before Grein, including two very steep sections ( approx. 10 meters). After Melk, when switching to the left bank of the Danube, there is a very steep climb up to the bridge (18%). The surfaces through the towns are often cobblestone. The ferries are accessible by handbike. However, the descent to the ferry is usually very steep on rough cobblestones. Two accompanying persons are usually necessary here.

A light but very long route that requires a lot of stamina. However, the route can also be divided into shorter sections for easier completion, as detailed in the full description. On this hike, we experience the impressive hillside and gorge forests of a NATURA 2000 protected area along the Danube with its diverse animal and plant life.
