Beautiful local tour in Middle Baden. Today Uschi came along. That's why I included sights: The Aalschocker Heini, and of course Baden Baden. In early summer, the rose garden in Beutig is the event in Baden Baden. The view and the splendor of the roses is simply magnificent. The climb with the bike is definitely worth it.

Along the edge path from Waldprechtsweier to Gaggenau, relatively low elevation differences, very easy to walk, relaxing, partly with a nice view from the edge path into the Rhine plain as well as into the front Murg valley.
Overall a fairly easy tour to walk.
Due to the relatively low elevation differences and the well-walkable paths in the first two stages Ettlingen-Waldprechtsweier and this stage, it is also possible to combine these two partial stages into one stage of about 27 km.
There are practically no dining options on this section until the destination Gaggenau. No villages are directly crossed on the tour itself.
Information regarding places and accommodations can be found at:
In Gaggenau itself, there are practically no overnight accommodations.
However, Gaggenau is excellently connected to the regional S-Bahn network as well as the bus network of the Karlsruhe Transport Association (kvv.de). Thus, surrounding towns regarding accommodations can be reached in a short time:
Especially the towns of Kuppenheim and Gernsbach as well as Rastatt.

The northern extension of the Badische Jakobsweg to Ettlingen is completed... From Ettlingen, a little over 13 km to Waldprechtsweier in the Karlsruhe district.
The route passes through the center of the Baden city as a gateway to the Alb Valley/Northern Black Forest and then, without major elevation changes, follows the Saumweg (pilgrim's shell and blue lozenge of the Black Forest Association) along to Waldprechtsweier. Here, the sections to Gaggenau/Baden-Baden (Steinbach)/Sasbachwalden/Offenburg/Schutterwald and from there to Breisach connect.
Dining options on this first section are only available at the destination Waldprechtsweier: e.g., at Campingpark Bergwiesen (Campingstüble) or Waldenfelsstüble at the Waldenfels Hall/Mini Golf and Leisure Facility (Talstrasse 41 b).
Accommodation options: In Waldprechtsweier so far only Campingplatz Bergwiesen or in Malsch (bus connection from Waldprechtsweier) Hotel auf der Bühn or various private accommodations.

After the holidays, I just had to get back on the bike today. Indoor cycling is driving me crazy. Especially since continuous rain is forecast for tomorrow again. The headwind on the way on the Rhine dam was already fierce. But that's why I have a motor with me. The dam renovation project is now finished up to about 500 m in Illingen. It looks good, it is also very rideable, very fine compacted gravel was used as the surface. The dam defense path is designed the same way. The joy that almost everything is finished is great, but internally I have the following questions: Why was no asphalt chosen as the final surface at all? In Alsace and the Palatinate, in the rest of the Pamina region, all bike paths are paved with asphalt, and it is durable. In Middle Baden, compacted gravel is used. When the first timber transports from the floodplain forest are done, the dam will then have driving lanes. We also have clever personnel in our administrations who think they know everything better. In the Ried, I wished Heini (the eelpout in Wintersdorf) all the best for the new year. The foresters there have completely shaved off all the pollarded willows. Yes, they need it, and they grow back quickly anyway. I was quickly in the spa town of B. Baden over Iffezheim. As often before, I refreshed myself at Leopoldsplatz. I like going to Peter's good bakery. I have never been disappointed there. I rode backwards again via Balg, and then over the Eberbach to Haueneberstein and on to Schloss Favorit. In Kuppenheim I was able to catch a few sun rays again and therefore decided to add a detour via Rotenfels Winkel to Malsch. The tailwind blew me to Ettlingenweier and Bruchhausen. Through the Hardtwald, the hometown was reached relatively quickly. In the end, I am glad that today I was able to really feel the wind blowing around my nose again. That was really necessary again.
