Burg Philippstein
The castle was built in 1390 by Count Philipp I of Nassau-Weilburg-Saarbrücken to protect against the counts of Solms. In the 16th century, it lost its strategic importance and fell into disrepair after the administrator left.In the 19th century, village residents used the ruins as a quarry, resulting in many parts being removed. Since 1975, with the establishment of the Castle and Local Heritage Association, the castle has been extensively restored and now shines again in new splendor.
