Viewpoints in South-Western Styria

Wine culture means much more than just enjoying a good glass - it is an experience for all the senses and a journey into the history of a millennia-old beverage.

The lookout point is located on the Lethkogel (608m). From here, there is an excellent 360-degree panoramic view of Stainz and the surrounding area, the Bachern Mountains (Pohorje), the Kor- and Gleinalpe, as well as the Graz highlands (Schöckel) and the eastern Styrian volcanoes.

One can expect not only an excellent panoramic view, but it is also intended to convey to visitors how one could see into the land from the former keep of the Altburg. The Altburg Schwanberg dates back to the High or Late Middle Ages and was an important defensive structure of its time. The partial reconstruction of the torn-down walls, as well as the observation tower on the Altburg, serve as an as authentic as possible graphic reconstruction of the former facility and are intended to provide a vivid representation of the earlier or medieval settlement phase.

After the fire and collapse of the third observation tower, plans for the construction of the 4th tower have already begun. Key points of this project include not only the reconstruction of the observation tower but also the establishment of four knowledge dissemination stations in the form of oversized animal figures made of wood, which have been set up in the vicinity of the observation tower and can be playfully discovered and climbed by children.

The Heiligengeistklamm in Leutschach a.d.W. leads from the Spitzmühle in Schloßberg to Sv. Duh na Ostrem Vrhu in Slovenia.

The Kreuzkogel Observatory near Leibnitz offers an impressive panoramic view – from Hochschwab and Schöckl to Koralpe, Pohorje, and the Steiner Alps.

As a special feature, guests have access to the property's own 360° panoramic tower with a height of 13 m.

The Panoramasteg Sausal was built in one of the most beautiful places of the Sausal hills with a panoramic view indicator integrated into the large table. From the footbridge it is not only possible to look into the distance, but it also invites you to take a seat and linger with its lounger and seating at the table. The structure itself is an eye-catcher and an architectural highlight for the entire region.

South of Arnfels, right on the border with Slovenia and at an altitude of 650 to 750 m, lies the Remschnigg Alm.
