Via ferratas in Vomp

Two-day route with a short Via Ferrata section (B) from Eng via the Lamsenjochhütte to the Lamsenspitze

The Lamsenspitze is already a fantastic Karwendel route that you should definitely undertake at least once if you have the appropriate experience.

The magnificent Lamsenspitze is a "must" for every experienced mountaineer who stays overnight at the Lamsenjochhütte.

Via ferrata: Description / Topo

To the Lamsenspitze via the Brudertunnel Via Ferrata

From the Engalm parking lot, the path winds through the forest on a trail up to a forest road. Follow this until you turn off onto a trail at a signpost. This trail goes up to the western Lamsenjoch. Then you cross over to the Lamensjochhütte.  Behind the hut, turn left over a steep scree field to the start of the Brudertunnelsteig. Put on the harness here and begin the climb. The route is newly secured and, except for the exit (C section), is rated B-C.  After the exit, continue towards the Lamsenscharte, leaving it to the right, and climb over a scree field to the summit entry. Here begins the second part of the via ferrata. However, there is a very high risk of falling rocks due to climbers ahead.  After the summit, descend back to the Lamsenjochscharte via the ascent path. From there starts the descent over a smooth slab with steel pins and a cable secured section. Then it goes steeply down and secured by cable into a scree cirque. Here you can remove your climbing harness.  If desired, you can slide down the scree slope or take the normal switchback path back to the hut.  From the hut, the descent path is the same as the ascent path.
