Thank you Ben for posting this lovely walk. We wanted a break from time on the beach and started this walk from the Cobb, but can be picked up from anywhere in Lyme Regis. Outbound route is along quite roads and then footpaths following the river valley and avoids the more challenging contours of Lyme. Scenic views back into Lyme from the higher points of the walk, before lovely sea views over the Cobb when returning downhill into Lyme.

Hi, followed this route today, we picked it up from Axminster. The route was spot on and very enjoyable. We managed it on 2x CRF300L and 1x CRF250 rally. There was a few tricky parts but nothing crazy. Thanks for sharing the route, we will try your other routes soon.

This is a great route that combines the coast path with sea views, heathlands and country riverside paths. However we think it’s closer to 18 miles! A word of caution: the A3052 at Newton Poppleford is very busy and there is no footpath as you cross the bridge. A safer, but slightly further option would be to cross the road, go up Lower Way to Harpford bridge and follow the footpath back to Newton Poppleford via Back Lane and recross the road to join the route.

Fabulous route and with the bright sunshine the views across the Jurassic coast were worth the steep climb up to the trig point. Great marshalling and signage so easy to follow.
