Sid circular pubs and tea rooms
A circular walk mostly following the well signed Sid Valley circular route.
This route takes in Sidbury and Sidmouth as well as the hamlet of Salcombe Regis.
This route explores the rolling countryside around the Sid valley, The premium and characterful areas of Sidmouth, Sea front at Sidmouth and the low cliffs / coast path before going inland towards Salcombe Regis. Beautiful views, delightful scenery and many points of interest.
*photos taken on phone which has water in lens. Sorry!
We walked this route in an anticlockwise direction early May 2021, we shortened the route slightly due to knee problems.
We also decided to start in Sidbury as free parking and a delightful village with pub and shop. The countryside was delightful with many spring flowers along the banks and hedgerows. Many opportunities for birdwatching with several habitats from cultivated farmland, classic devonian banks, hedgerows to heathland, forest, beaches and cliffs village and towns.
The route also takes in classic village buildings with thatch, superior properties and the delights of the sea front properties at Sidmouth, while Salcombe Regis retains an air of Temps Passe with modern touches.

Allow plenty of time as there are many opportunities for distraction - views, wildlife, characterful properties.
At point D we diverted to get some eggs from Buckley Farmhouse, which still has a characterful range of farm buildings around the farmyard, there is a B&B here www.buckleybandb.moonfruit.co.uk
