Pamir Mountains

The Pamir is the second highest mountain range in the world after the Himalayas and stretches over Tajikistan, Xinjiang in China, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan. With 7,649 m the Kongur is the highest peak of the Pamir, the average height is between 3,600 m and 4,400 m. The folded mountains are crossed by the River Pamir and connect some of the great mountains of Asia. The Pamir has hardly any touristic infrastructure and is still considered an insider tip for adventure tourists and mountaineers. Before a trip, you should inform yourself about current travel warnings, which can affect the border areas, especially.
