Another difficult day starting with the most challenging river crossing on the Pamir Trail. The terrain is tricky throughout, often steep without trails. Take care!
This is potentially a hard stage, as there are two major river crossings and at times pathless terrain. There are many brown bears in this area, though they are very shy.
Today's stage is largely a walk on a dirt road, but a very scenic one. Passing quaint villages with a big mountain scenery, this is a perfect day to take it easy.
The final stage of the Pamir Trail is not a walk in the park! Quite technical terrain with steep, loose and gravely soil make the going slow. The views across the Hindu Kush from the Buddhist stupa definitely make up for the hardship on the last couple of stages.
One of the hardest stages on the Pamir Trail, crossing the route's highest point, the Vrang Pass at 5010m. Expect rugged terrain without trails before and after the pass. Start early!
Another stunning stage with big views and eye popping mountan lakes. You will dip below 4000 metres again and there is a chance for a dip in a hot spring!
