With a population of 2.7 million, Osaka is the central city of western Japan, but it has also been a political and cultural center since ancient times, and many historical buildings and ancient tombs still remain.
Although Osaka is an urban city, there are many beautiful parks in the urban area. Osaka Castle Park, Nakanoshima Park, and Kema Sakuranomiya Park, famous for its cherry blossoms, can be visited while sightseeing in the city. A little further away, you can enjoy hiking to a powerful waterfall in Minoh or the lush greenery of Hattori Ryokuchi. In Osaka, where public transportation is convenient, you can enjoy one-day mountain climbing at Mount Kongo, Mount Yamato Katsuragi, Mount Pom-Pom, and others.
