Ehime Prefecture is divided into Toyo, Chuyo, and Nanyo prefectures, with the Shimanami Kaido (Sea Route) crossing the Toyo region. It is famous as a cycling road across the Seto Inland Sea and was introduced by an American TV station as "one of the world's most wonderful bicycle paths. Many historical and cultural spots can be found in Nakayo. Strolling along Dogo Onsen Street, said to be the oldest hot spring resort in Japan, in a yukata (light cotton kimono) is like stepping back in time to the Taisho Era (1912-1926). Nanyo, with its unique climate and culture, offers a wealth of attractions, including the powerful natural features of the rias coast and Shikoku Karst, and the retro cityscapes of Ozu, Uchiko, and Uwa.
