The highest peak of Mount Ishizuchi is Tengu Peak at an elevation of 1,982 meters. However, many climbers aim for Misen (1,974 meters), where the Ishizuchi Shrine summit shrine is located, because the route to the peak involves walking on steep ridges and rocky areas. The Ishizuchi Mountain Climbing Ropeway connects the "Sanroku Shitaya Station" at about 450 meters elevation to the "Summit Joju Station" at about 1,300 meters elevation, allowing climbers to quickly reach the Ishizuchi Shrine Chugu Joju Shrine. There are a total of four chain climbing sections on Mount Ishizuchi, but those who lack confidence are advised to take bypass routes. After descending at the Joju Station of the ropeway, it is about a 30-minute uphill walk to the Ishizuchi Shrine Chugu Joju Shrine. There are no toilets for a while after Joju Shrine.
