Discover the region
The Central Transdanubian region is actually a region surrounded by lowlandsbordered by the Danube in the north and Lake Balaton in the southwest. It includes the whole of the Vértes-Velence Hills, most of the Bakony region and roughly half of the Dunazug Hills. Many famous hiking trails criss-cross these mountains, which are rich in karstic shapes. For those with boots, there are plenty of hiking opportunities in the region, while for those who prefer paddling, the Marcal, the Danube, Lake Balaton and Lake Velence are waiting for them.
