    Eine wirklich tolle Tour, die ich so bereits vor 40 Jahren gewandert war. 2024 hatte ich dann eine noch längere Weitwanderung auf meinem Zagoria-Track unternommen.     The trail is just reopened and lets you explore an easy and beautiful walk towards the Monastery of St Arsenio (an impressive building within a cave). what follows is a steep path descending and ascending towards the Cave of Stygas in the vegetation. well marked. Take at least 1lt water p.p. with you and snaks. There are other wooden signs that will direct you to the cave (skipping the monastery) as a shortcut there. Do the walk preferably in May, June, or end September.

    Der Abstieg ist, bei oder nach Regen, zum Teil sehr rutschig. Der Abschnitt entlang des Flusses bietet traumhafte Blicke. Ein Bad ist, wegen der Temperatur von ca 9 Grad, auch im Sommer, nur etwas für abgehärtete 🥶

    Super Tour. Die Höhepunkte sind der Wegs selbst, die zwei Steinhaus-Dörfer mit mehreren Einkehrmöglichkeiten und die Wasserfälle. Aktuell ist der Weg von Kallarytes hinunter zu den Wasserfällen gesperrt (Absturzgefahr). Weise noch mal darauf hin, dass es sich hier um eine anstrengende Wanderung auf griechisch typisch steinigen und steilen Pfaden handelt. Nichts für Turnschuhwanderer.

    Wieder mal Wegabschnitte die mehr zu ahnen als zu sehen sind. Super schön. Felsen werden hier schon mal mit Beton am abstürzen gehindert. Immer wieder ein Blick auf die Schlucht. Grandios.

    Auch die Rester der Zivilisation findet man hier am Wegesrand. Manche Wege werden anscheinend nicht mehr richtig begangen und hier werden die Dörfer noch per fahrendem Händler versorgt. Das Kloster muss man sich anschauen und den Weg zur Eremitenhöhle ist nur etwas für Schwindelfreie. Ach ja und man muss auf die Bären aufpassen (wirklich !).

    Super gut restaurierter Treppenweg. Hier findet jedes Jahr ein Treppenlauf statt. Das muss anstrengend sein. Der Weg zum Aussichtspunkt ist nur für Spürnasen zu finden und ziemlich dornig. Wir haben es gerade noch vor dem Gewitter in die Taverne geschafft :)

    In der Hitze anstrengender Aufstieg. Zum Glück sind überdachte Wasserstellen eingerichtet wo man etwas Schatten und (nicht immer sicher) Wasser findet. Der Weg zum See mit dem Blick in die Schlucht lohnt sich. Zur Hütte wird alles per Muli transportiert.
