The weather forecasts predict a lot of rain today and we are looking at a short walk. Dimitra, the owner of our apartment, recommended the Kouiasa waterfalls to us. Through wikiloc, we find a walk that takes us on a circuit around the area. And what a circuit it is! Truly a beautiful walk with lots of variety. We have never taken a walk where we have taken so many photos (just to name one thing).

- On the way back, after just over 2km, we stop at the monastery Iera Moni Kipinas, beautifully built into the mountain. The monastery is freely accessible (there is no one there) and we walk up a beautifully paved road (there are even toilets) until we reach the monastery. We can enter via a drawbridge. Nice to see such a monastery from the inside for once. In the heart of the monastery, inside the mountain, is the holy place where the altar stands and the frescoes hang. It's quite special that this is so well preserved.
- As if that wasn't enough, we drive on to the Anemotrypa Stalactite Cave just outside Pramanta. This turns out to be a cave, discovered in the 60s, full of, you guessed it, stalactites. Although we also saw many standing stalagmites. We have to wait a bit for the next tour. For 3 euros per person, we eventually go inside with 6 people. It turns out to be a beautiful cave complex where you can admire an incredible amount of very white dripstone formations. Pure white due to the limestone. You really have to bend down and maneuver not to touch the formations. Special. At the end of the tour, we come to a small lake with very fragile dripstone. It looks like coral. It looks so beautiful and fragile. Humans should not damage this. Beautiful.

We park at the path that leads us to the waterfalls. First, let's go there. We come to a café beautifully located in nature. Next to it, we already see some rapids. Further upstream, a few more beautiful ones. Next to the café, a staircase leads up to a path that takes us even further upstream. There is a small bridge with a view of the largest 'waterfall'. We take some photos (for now) and return towards the car. However, we keep to the right, cross the bridge and take the left path that slowly leads us up the mountain. There we follow the asphalt road to its end. We see the village Syrrako beautifully perched against the mountain right next to a huge gorge. A nicely constructed path turns right and leads us to the village. Partly along a route through the village, we arrive on the other side at the gorge. Here it goes steeply down until we reach the bottom and can cross the river with a steel bridge. On the other side, it goes uphill again. We had already seen on the descent that walls with railings were placed here. René always has trouble with stairs. Extremely tiring. Fortunately, there are also sections where you just have to walk uphill. This way, we keep moving until we reach the village Kalarites. Through the village, where we cross the cozy market square, we reach the final descent towards the car.
