Geographically, Wirft is located on the edge of the Ahr Valley and thus offers a perfect starting point for walks through the vineyards or along the Ahr. The region is famous for its wines and offers numerous opportunities for tasting. But culture enthusiasts will also get their money's worth here: visit the historic town centre of Ahrweiler with its picturesque half-timbered houses or visit Are Castle.

If it rains, there are also many activities to choose from. How about a visit to the red wine museum, for example, or a guided tour through the underground bunker from the Second World War? A trip to nearby Bonn is also worthwhile if the weather is bad.

The most beautiful time in Wirft is undoubtedly autumn, when the leaves turn colourful and the grape harvest begins. But nature also beckons in spring with its splendour of blossoms and in summer you can spend wonderful days at the Ahr.

In addition to hiking and wine tasting, there are many other outdoor activities such as cycling, canoeing or even ballooning over the Ahr valley. Popular places for this are Altenahr or Mayschoss.

    Tolle Runde, landschaftlich sehr schön. Bis auf die Abschnitte auf den Bundesstraßen waren wir an einem Samstag bei tollem Wetter ziemlich allein unterwegs. Zum Rasen sind die Straßen im übrigen völlig ungeeignet, da oftmals ziemlich schmal mit Gegenverkehr, für unsere Vespa aber prima. Wenn man Zeit genug einplant sollte man sich die Maare anschauen. Teilweise ist Baden erlaubt. Wir mochten das Pulvermaar. An der Ahr gibt es auch viele nette Örtchen zum Verweilen. Allen voran natürlich Ahrweiler und Altenahr. Auch den Nürgburgring könnte man näher erkunden. Alles in allem hat die Runde uns super gefallen. Dankeschön.

    Tolle Wanderung am Neujahrstag 2022. Natürlich streckenweise schlammig, aber dafür immer auf seeehr ruhigen Nebenwegen. ACHTUNG! Auf dem Abschnitt am Trierbach ist der Weg auf ca. 5 Metern von der Flut im letzten Juli bis auf zwei Meter weggerissen. Könnte noch weiter wegbrechen und damit unpassierbar werden.

    Eine schwere Tour . Ohne E-Bike kaum zu bewältigen. Habe am Ende noch 35 % Batteriekapazität gehabt musste aber kräftig mittreten. Immer die Batterie im Auge behalten da klappt es auch .An der Ahr kann man auch ohne Unterstützung fahren.
